The Cache Creek Holistic Veterinary Service has served Yolo and surrounding California counties since we opened in August, 1980. Today we have Clients on both coasts and many states in between and in other countries because we have developed experimental techniques which allow us to test patients remotely by telephone and by “Witness.”

[A “Witness” consists of a recent full body photo of the patient and a DNA sample — +/-10 “plucked” hairs + an oral swab for oral mucosal cells. Email us for more details if interested.]

While Dr. Bert H. Brooks is a veterinarian licensed in the State of California, what we do today should not be confused with the practice of “Traditional Medicine.” We still use or recommend traditional conventional therapy (i.e., diagnostics, drugs and surgery, etc.) when called for. However, when Clients call us today it is usually because of our holistic approach to health care which is very effective.

Our approach is also “different” so we have some explaining to do. This site contains a lot of information specific to what we do and how we do it. We have published a book which explains our theory of chronic disease and how we derived it, and how we use it to benefit patients. However, though it would be best to do so, you don’t have to read the book in order to get started. We have prepared some fliers for clients which are condensed versions of the essentials which clients should understand in preparation for their first test session.

Entity Testing and Analysis

We have learned “Complementary” or “Integrative” health care techniques (effective modalities not taught behind the ivy clad walls of medical schools) from the best! We then applied what we learned about muscle response testing (MRT) and tried variations on the theme. The result has been the development of a unique (as far as we know) modality which we call Entity Testing and Analysis (ETA).

One of the techniques we have mastered and incorporate into ETA is Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET). Dr. Devi Nambudripad discovered and promotes this revolutionary means of identifying and eliminating allergies completely and effectively. [www.naet.com]

We use ETA and NAET to balance patients’ energies

Energy is what life - and everything else - are all about. If a body’s energy suffers an imbalance for any reason, disease can result. The role of the doctor is simply to help a patient balance his or her energy so that s/he can solve the health problem. The absolute truth is that no doctor practicing today has ever cured any disease. Only patients (with help from their Creator) can cure themselves.

Once we mastered its basics, (long before we called our technique “ETA”) we started using muscle response testing with every patient. Circumstances led us to introduce a “new wrinkle” to our MRT technique (we describe it in our book) which ultimately led to discovery of new results. Whenever we tested patients with non-genetic chronic diseases, we found that their imbalances almost always followed the same pattern! After we tested many patients, the pattern repeated so many times that we were able to develop a unique Theory of Chronic Disease.

More Than A Theory: A New Medical Paradigm

To date, thousands of cases have supported our theory while none has contradicted it. So, to us, it is more than a theory at this time. Since ETA appears a bit complex (really, it is quite simple), we decided to write a book for the general public. The book tells a bit about our background and how we developed the theory over time. It explains how to do some basic muscle testing, though it is not our intent to provide a comprehensive explanation of ETA at this time.

We delivered three one hour Power Point Presentations at the 23rd Annual Conference of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association in Reno in October of 2008 in Reno Nevada on our Theory of Chronic Disease, its genesis and treatment as described in our book, More Than A Theory: A New Medical Paradigm. The presentations were very well attended and received, and we ended up providing demonstrations by testing fifteen subjects during the ensuing evenings—some of them remotely. Since then, we have offered our first seminar on the subjects in Woodland, California.

Time permitting, additional seminars for Health Care Professionals on ETA may be forthcoming, but we owe our patients most of our time. In the mean time:

Referrals and Consultations

We gladly accept referrals and cases from health care practitioners for consultation. We fully expect that referring doctors will retain their position of responsibility for the patients and provide follow-up examinations and diagnostics as they are needed.

More About Us

We are a small but active country-based business consisting of:

Bert & Melissa Brooks—Owners and managers of the Cache Creek Holistic Veterinary Service since 1980. We have “retired” from Conventional Practice — but we are busier than ever and can see that we will never be able to fully retire from this kind of service. We just love it too much to think about doing anything else.

Office Staff — When you call the office to make an appointment or to place an order, you will probably speak with Yicel, Esther or Charlene who comprise our well-trained, knowledgeable and efficient Staff who can answer most of your questions regarding appointments, procedures and products that you can order with or without a prescription.

Rancho Paso: The CCHVS is located on Rancho Paso which was once a busy Peruvian Paso Horse Ranch where U.S. National Champion Horses were bred, raised and trained. Once the home of over forty show– and performance-quality Peruvian Paso Horses, several “retirees” remain and welcome your attention.

Peafowl:  We started out with a few peacocks and hens as partial payment by a Client. Our flock grew to its present size when our happy birds attracted immigrants from local flocks. (They also are experts in reproduction on their own.) In order to help pay for their feed and upkeep, we sell the beautiful feathers which they shed and  we collect annually. They make great colorful decorations for your home, for use in arts and crafts or as gifts. They also make fantastic toys for the feline members of the family who can never resist “feather stalking” no matter what age the optimistic hunters enjoy. We can ship them anywhere in the United States. If requested, they will come with a certificate thanking you as a “Supporter of the Flock!” Please send an email for prices to holisticvet@hughes.net.

Help us feed the birds!

We ship in the U.S.A.

Fifteen Minutes of TV Fame:  Clients suggested that a local television station (CBS Channel 13—Sacramento, CA area) check out what we do. They spent quite a bit of time with us and were basically fair in their (naturally) skeptical coverage. You can click on the links below to see how they portrayed the essence of our practice.
